impossible to maintain your footing. We finally called it a day and were prepared to dig in for the evening. Sometime earlier, a spotter round had ignited a
fire, but it didn&#39;t seem all that close. But somehow it jump-started into a real burner, cutting through the elephant grass rapidly.Soon the platoon next

			<description><![CDATA[ It has been almost 40 years since I left Vietnam (8/28/1969) and I usually don&#39;t have what some would consider &quot;flashbacks&quot; very often any more
but the other night (the 4th) I lay in bed, listenig to Taps being played over the loud speaker. Just after it ended, some locals just off base fired off some
firecrackers of some sort. A few minutes later, a couple of B1B&#39;s took off, then more firecrackers went off.

			<description><![CDATA[ I participated in both invasions of Cambodia. The first was the U.S. Invasion in the Spring of 1970. The second was in early 1971 when the South Vietnamese
alone invaded Cambodia supported by U.S. Gunship and medevac. I never saw Cambodia during the day, all of my medevac border crossings came at or after sunset. 
One night when we were  deep in Cambodia (North of Phnom Penh) we were hijacked by ARVN&#39;s who were losing a battle. Because of the large number of

			<description><![CDATA[ In the late 1970s and early 1980s I was stationed in Schweinfurt Germany; Bad Kissingen was about 25 km from Schweinfurt if I remember correctly.  One of the
members of our unit was a SSG whose nickname was &quot;Jo Jo.&quot;  Jo Jo was an affable fellow and well-liked by everyone in our unit.

was a lot of activity going on at the local soccer field, which was being used as a helo pad to pick up at lot of POWs from the recent operation. Anyway,
myself , and a # of GIs from the 9th were there along with a smattering of S Viets and civilians. Was passing by a ARVN soldier who had his M1 rifle under his
