I got the below e-mail from an old soldier from 1966 Fort Gordon GA where we were part of a Civil Affairs company formed at Ft Gordon and inserted into the Republic Of Vietnam with HQ at Long Binh and a bunch of teams (19) out around III Corps with some later to IV Corps.
CA Companies are commanded by 06's.
I was in country with this outfit for four years Oct 66- Sept 70, I was doing pretty good went from Corporal to SSGT in a year and a half with a bunch of chest baubles (Ribbons) US and RVN, had the bestest team working out of Phuoc Vinh until 1969 when I returned from R&R to find my self exiled (ALONE) to a District Team at Go Cong Province IV Corps! … I knew the CO had done it but I never got a serious answer as to why! …

Had a phone call from a 1-LT Dave XXXXXX, assist opns officer, 69-70. He said "your trouble" with the LTC was one of "C.O. envy" - being envious of your CAR-15. Thus you dilemma when you came back from R&R and your reassignment to IV Corps. Said you walked around Long Binh camp with it and LTC was asking, how the heck did he (Tiber) get one.
The QMC LT scouped the NCOIC of Public Safety Team.
